Two charged with obtaining over 1.6 million from father to recruit son to KDF

A man and a woman have been charged with conspiracy to defraud a father Sh 1.6 million pretending they could recruit his son and four others to the Kenya Defense Forces.

Dorcas Jepkemboi Kiptirim alias Mercy with former Statehouse supplier Jacob Kiruru Ngoletum are accused of conspiracy to defraud and obtaining the Sh 1,680,500 from Eliud Khaemba Namufweli by falsely pretending that they were in position to recruit his son and four others in the 2021 KDF recruitment exercise.

Kiptirim and Ngoletum are alleged to have committed the offence on diverse dates between 22nd January and 1st May 2021in Nairobi Central Business District jointly with others not before court.

The two denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul and were granted a bond of Sh 1 million with alternative cash bail of Sh  700,000.
