An employee of Abyssinia Iron and Steel Limited has been charged with stealing Sh 86 million from the company.
Bethwel Kipkorir Chebet is accused of stealing the Sh 89,159,377.77 on diverse dates between 1st May 2022 and 2nd September 2023 at Athi River, Machakos County, jointly with others not before court.
Chebet, who alleged to be the data entry clerk at the company, is also charged with conspiring jointly with others not before court to commit the offense.
He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina who directed him to appear before the city court for bail and bond determination.
