Another suspect in fake plutonium sale charged with Sh 4.3M fraud

A man has been charged with Sh 4.3 fraud in a fake plutonium sale deal.

Chrispinus Wekesa Makokha is accused of obtaining Sh 4,385,000 from Jason Ochola by falsely pretending that he was in a position to offer him a commission after the sale of a mineral known as plutonium, a fact he knew to be false.

Makokha is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between the 20th November and 31st December 2024, at unknown place within the Republic of Kenya, jointly with others before court.

The accused who is also facing charges of conspiracy to defraud Ochola in the said deal.

He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi and was granted a cash bail of Sh 600,000.

Makokha was allegedly arrested at Milimani Law Courts while he had gone to bail out his counterpart who is now his co-accused in the said matter.
