Businessman Albert Ongera charged with defiling three minors in Kibera

Nairobi businessman Albert Ongera has been arraigned in court and charged with defiling three minors in Kibera.

Ongera is accused of defiling the three minors one aged 10 years and two aged 8 years old after allegedly luring them.

He is accused of committing the offence on between February 1st and 28th at Karanja area in Kibera slums, Nairobi County.

According to the charge sheet, the accused allegedly sodomized the three victims on the alleged diverse dates.

Ongera pleaded to the charges on Monday afternoon after the Nairobi Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi rejected the initial charge sheet as it contained the full names of the three victims.

The magistrate was not pleased with the manner in which the charge sheet had been drafted and ordered that the police officer who drafted it corrects it and present it before court.

The businessman denied committing the indecent act and was released on a bond of S1.5 million.

The accused was not given an alternative cash bail as the Magistrate deemed the act as heinous and He is facing 8 counts of indecent act with children and sexual assault cash bail could not commensurate it.

The criminal case will be heard on July 13 2017.
