A businessman has been charged with defrauding a job seeker over Sh 4.2 million in the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) recruitment.
Patrick Katua Mutinda is accused of obtaining Sh 4,265,000 from Nicholas Wambua Muthangya by falsely pretending that he was in a position to help him secure slots in the KDF recruitment for his village mates, a fact he knew to be false.
Mutinda is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 6th November and 23rd December 2025.
He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina and was granted a bond of Sh 700,000 with alternative cash bail of Sh 400,000.
The case will be mentioned on 28th April 2026 for pre-trial.
