A man arrested with fake one million US dollars has been charged in Nairobi.
Stephen Mark Oduk is accused of knowingly and unlawfully having in his possession 1,000,000 papers intended to resemble and pass as special papers such as provided and used in making currency United States currency 100 dollar bill.
The accused allegedly committed the offence on 19th September 2019 at plan 254 restaurant in Kilimani, Nairobi.
Oduk is facing another charge of preparation to commit a felony.
He is said to have been intending to commit a felony, namely cheating by being in possession of the said papers.
He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi.
His lawyer Cliff Ombeta asked the court to grant his client lenient bail on grounds that he has a three year old child who was left alone after his arrest since the mother has traced for business.
He was granted a bond of Sh 1 million or a cash bail of Sh 500,000.
The case will be mentioned on 7th and will be heard on 30th October this year.
