Garissa shooting:Two police officers charged with murder

Two Garissa police officers have been charged with the July murder of two Garissa town residents.

This is after the Independent Police Oversight Authority concluded investigations on circumstances under which the two men were shot.

The officers, Adan Ibrahahim Salat and Abdirahman Roble Samow appeared virtually before Justice Jessie Lessit and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the charge sheet, the officers shot and killed Aden Abdi Madhobe and Mudhidin Aden Mudhow on 25th July this year at Soko Ngombe Area of Garissa Township.

Pending the hearing and determination of their bail application, the two will remain in custody.
The the application has been set for hearing on 3rd September 2020.

The victims were shot dead during a demonstration at the Garissa livestock Market.
