I hate Mike Sonko, businessman tells court after being charged with forging county appointment letter

A businessman charged today with forging a Nairobi city county appointment letter has told court that he hates Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko.

Theuphlus Onyala Mpere told Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot that he is a Jubilee government supporter and lover the President and his deputy but hates Sonko for chasing away his investors.
“I am a jubilee supporter and I love President Uhuru and his deputy Ruto but I hate the governor of Nairobi for preventing my investors from investing in the country,” said Mpere.
He added that he had brought investors investing Sh 57billion in a waste management project that can help prevent Nairobi residents stay cholera free and prevent Chikungunya virus in Mombasa.
Mpere added that his investors are bring harasses by the governor’s goons.
The businessman was charged with forging the appointment letter addressed to the President, VR holdings AB Sweden purporting it to be a genuine letter issued and signed by Allan Igambi Esabwa, an executive committee member of trade, tourism and cooperative of Nairobi County government.
The accused is said to have committed the offence on or about 19th March 2018 at unknown place within the republic of Kenya with intent to defraud.
Mpere who deals in clearing and forwarding and also car sales denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot.
He was granted a bond of Sh 200,000 or alternative cash bail of Sh 100,000.
