Lawyer charged with forging court documents

A lawyer has been charged with forging court documents with intent to deceive.

Jack Bigambo of Bigambo & Bigambo Advocates is accused of knowingly and fraudulently uttering forged electronic records (Scanned Miscellaneous Application), purporting it to be a genuine application commissioned by Grace Wambui Maina Advocate and Commissioner of oaths.

The accused is alleged to have committed the offence on 11th February 2022 at Bigambo & Bigambo Advocates offices in Westlands, Nairobi.

Bigambo is also accused of embossing a false stamp impression in the name of Grace Wambui Maina with intent to deceive. He is alleged to have committed the offence on 10th February 2022 at his office.

The court heard that on 9th March 2022, Bigambo informed Abdinoor Diba, a police officer attached to EACC that Miscellaneous application No. E.004/2022 of Milimani was commissioned by Magua & Mbatha Advocates.

He denied the charges before Senior Principal magistrate Martha Nanzushi and was released on a cash bail of Sh 100,000.
