A man has arraigned been arraigned in court over the break-in and theft of pruducts worth Sh 16 million from a computer shop in Nairobi, CBD.
Reuben Njukia Ngunyu alias Browny arraigned before Senior Resident Magistrate Joan Mati where the prosecution made an application to have him detained for 10 days for the investigators to conclude investigations.
Ngunyu is suspected to be among thise who stole from Mr.Bingo computer shop located at Twiga towers within Nairobi on the night of 11th and 12th April 2026.
According to an affidavit by the investigating officer PC Kaiguri Mathenge, the available intelligence indicates that Ngunyu and his accomplices approached and stupefied the security guards manning the building and broke into Mr. Bingo Computer Shop and stole therein assorted computers, phones and accessories valued at Sh 16 million.
PC Mathenge told the court that his team needs time to subject the suspect’s phones for forensic analysis.
The investigator added that the respondent is a habitual offender and his place of fixed abode is unknown hence need time to verify his previous criminal records with the Criminal registry.
“During his arrest, the respondent was found in possession of assorted breaking equipment and there is need for further analysis of the recovered tools.
In addition, the investigator said there is need to do a comparison analysis of the arrested suspect by the imaging and acoustic experts to the CCTV footage that captured the suspects during the commission of the offence.
The court further heard that the investigating team needs time to record witness statements, conduct an identification parade, arrest suspects at large, get a report from Safaricom PLC and Airtel Kenya among others.
