Millie Odhiambo’s PA in court for insulting Rangwe MP Lilian Gogo

Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo’s Personal Assistant has been arraigned in court and charged with publishing insulting messages against Rangwe MP Lilian Gogo.
Derricks Ochieng Ogayo is said to have broadcasted or caused to be published to Gogo’s facebook account the words ‘you are a thief and not worthy being a member of Parliament for Rangwe’ words intended to insult, cause fear and alarm to the people of Rangwe and the general public.
The PA is alleged to have committed the offence on diverse dates between 1st February and 10th March 2018, jointly with others not in court.
Twenty five year old Ogayo was presented before Milimani court Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi where he denied the charges.
The accused told the court he is a freelance journalist based in Nairobi with no intention to belittle anyone in his cause of his duty of informing people.
“The statements before you are only meant intimidate me in my line of duty,” Ogayo told court.
 Ogayo was granted a bond of Sh 200,000 or alternative cash bail of Sh 50,000.
The case will be heard on 11th April.
