Risknet Insurance Agency Limited boss has been charged with Sh 12 million fraud related to Makuyu affordable housing tender.
Jacob Okumu Anyumba is accused of obtaining from Elvin Leware trading as Dumpken Enterprises Limited Sh 12,573,000 by falsely pretending that he had the capacity to process a performance bond worth 1,871,646,425.76 that was required to execute an awarded tender for the construction of affordable housing project in Makuyu constituency, a fact he knew to be false
Anyumba, 52, is alleged to have committed the offense on 13th December 2024 in Nairobi, with intent to defraud.
The businessman is also charged with conspiring with others not before court, by means of deceit, to defraud Dumpken Enterprises the said money.
He denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Caroline Mugo and was released on a cash bail of Sh 1.5 million plus one contact person.
The case will be mentioned on 11th June 2025.
