Former Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has withdrawn a case against a Kabete National Polytechnic student who opened a Facebook account using his name and started to distribute Pornography.
Sonko told Senior Principal Magistrate Geoffrey Onsarigo that he wanted to withdraw the case against Tyson Kibet since his parents had approached him for the same.
The parents asked him to withdraw the charges since their son was apologetic and had been in custody for more than two months because they could not afford the cash bail issued.
Kibet was charged with intentionally creating a Facebook book account using the name “Mike Sonko” without authority.
After Sonko withdrew the case, Kibet asked him to help him get a job so that he could make himself useful.
