Two Kenyans have been charged in a Nairobi court with human trafficking and promoting the same.
Hassan Uthman and Eliud Ndegwa Kiama are alleged to have received five girls (all Ugandans) on 12th September 2018, at North Rift Luxury Shuttle booking office.
Uthman was charged that on 12th September at the said booking office received the girls and transferred them to Royal Bar and Restaurant also known as Blue Space Guest House in Embakasi on deceit that he was in a position to take them to Oman for employment.
Kiama was charged with five counts promoting human trafficking. The court heard that he being the caretaker of the said Guest House knowingly permitted the five victims in a room, to be used for the purpose of promoting trafficking in persons.
The two denied the charges before the Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi. The two were granted a bond of Sh 1 Million or a cash bail of Sh 500,000.
The matter will be mentioned on 21st September 2018 for directions on Hearing dates.
