A US missionary has been charged in Nairobi with the offense of being in possession of child pornography.
Joseph William Black Jr is accused of intentionally having in his possession pornographic images and a video of unknown Caucasian children of unknown age in his laptop, an act which depicted images and a video of the said children.
Black is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 20th October 2020 and 20th August 2021 at Bishop Makarios Seminary Rituta Statelite in Nairobi.
The accused denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi.
The prosecution opposed his release on bail on grounds that the accused is at flight risk.
According to the police, the suspect was arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport trying to flee the country.
The accused will remain in custody until 8th February 2020 when the court will deliver the ruling on bail.
