Warrant of arrest issued against businessman accused of Sh 14 million medical kits fraud

Court has issued a warrant of arrest against a businessman facing charges of Sh 14 million fraud.

Senior Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondieki issued the warrant against Barnabas Kiprop Bwabok for failing to appear in court the second time to answer to the charges.

Bwabok is accused of obtaining Sh 14 million through his company Amara from Ollyvian Agencies by falsely pretending that he could supply medical kits (microcuvettes) to them, a fact he knew to be false.

The accused is alleged to have committed the offence between 1st April and 19th May 2022 in Nairobi.

Bwabok is also charged with forging and making a KEBS local COC issued under UCR 202204009387 purporting it to be genuine.

He is alleged to have committed this offence on 17th May 2022 at an unknown place within Kenya.

Lastly, the accused is charged with uttering the false KEBS local COC at Cityhall Annex in Nairobi on 19th July 2022.
