Warrant of arrest issued against suspect in Sh 13.7M Moi Inter’l Sports Center fake tender

One of the accused persons in Sh 13.7 million fake tender to refurbish Moi International Sports Center is now being hunted by the police after a warrant of arrest was issued against him.

Trial Magistrate Dolphina Alego issued the warrant of arrest against Paul Mwangi Warutere after failing to attend court five times without reasonable cause.

The prosecutor, Herbert Sonye made an application for the warrant after Mwangi’s lawyer told the court he was not aware of his client’s whereabouts.

Advocate Gordon Ogado could not give the court a reasonable excuse as to why his client had jumped bail.

Warutere is charged alongside Stephen Ndungu, Mercy Wangui Gichema, James Warutere Njege, Newtral Enterprises, Topmax Media Limited.

The six are accused of obtaining Sh 13,746,205 from Jane Wanjiku Kabiruri by falsely pretending that they were in a position to incorporate her in a tender to refurbish Moi International Sports Center and Ligi Ndogo, a fact they knew to be false.

It is alleged that they committed the offense on diverse dates between 22nd July, 2016 and 8th  September, 2018 in Nairobi.

The accused persons are also charges with incurring a debt from Wanjiru trading as Janetek Enterprises by obtaining services to fabricate containers at Sh 1,090,000 by falsely pretending that that they would pay her upon completing the fabrication raising her invoice.

This offense was allegedly committed on diverse dates between 22nd July, 2016 and 12th  August, 2017 in Nairobi and Kajiado Counties.

Warutere and Njege are also facing charges of issuing a bad cheque on 19th October 2017.
