Central African National charged with fraud in Nairobi

A Central African National has been arraigned before a Nairobi court over sh 1 million fraud in a tender scam.

Abdi Yunis Adan is accused of obtaining the Sh 1,006,001 from Ali Abdi Maalim by falsely pretending that he was in a position to issue tender of installation of street light in Wajir County and employment of three persons into Kenya Power Company, a fact he knew to be false.

Adan is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 25th October 2024 and 12th March 2025 in Nairobi County, with intent to defraud.

He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Dolphina Alego and was released on a bond of Sh 500,000.
