A woman has been charged with Sh 1.6 million in a Makueni road construction tender.
Tabitha Minee Mutua is accused of obtaining Sh 1,674,000 fromĀ Moses Kiplagat Toroitich by falsely pretending that he was in a position to incorporate him in a road construction awarded by KeRRA, Makueni Region, to Thomas Construction Limited, a fact he knew to be false.
Mutua is also charged with conspiring with others not before court to defraud the complainant.
The accused is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 15th and 18th November 2024, at Nairobi central business District within Nairobi city county, with intent to defraud.
She denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Dolphina Alego and was granted a bond of Sh 1 million with alternative cash bail of Sh 500,000.
