A man has been charged with cheating among other offences after he failed to deliver a Toyota Harrier to a buyer.
Kevin Kamau Kihara is accused pf using fraudulent tricks to obtain Sh 3,532,000 from Gloria Mwende Richard under the pretence that he was in a position to import a motor vehicle make Toyota Harrier, a fact you knew to be false.
Kihara is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 1st day of September 2023 and 10th September 2024 at unknown place within the Republic of Kenya.
Other charges against the accused person include acquisition and use of proceeds of crime, to wit a total of Sh 435,000 which he received from the complainant to import for her other goods.
The accused person is said to have obtained the above money by pretending he could import a muffler, a fridge and a dental chair.
He denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Geoffrey Onsarigo and was granted a bond of Sh 3 million.
Alternatively, he could deposit a cash bail of Sh 1 million and provide two contact persons to secure his release pending the hearing and determination of the case.
