Man charged with inciting violence against businessman Thuita Mwangi

A man alleged to have threatened the famous businessman Thuita Mwangi’s life has been charged with incitement to violence charges.

Sammy Kimani Kung’u was accused of inciting violence against the Chairman of Embakasi Ranching Company Limited, Thuita by uttering without authority the words “I will make sure that Mwangi Thuita is ejected from the office of Embakasi Ranching Company and taken away as far as Chania River”.

The above words are alleged to indicate and imply that it was desirable to eject Thuita who is the legally elected Chairman of the Ranch by force which was calculated to lead to a breach of peace the company.

Kungu is alleged to have committed the offense on 30th September 2017 at Holy Family Basilica, Cardinal Otunga plaza in Nairobi.

The accused who is facing another similar charge already before court, pleaded not guilty before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi.

Through his lawyer, the accused pleaded with the court to review his bail terms even in his previous matter on grounds that they were high and was unable to afford them.

However the magistrate maintained the terms saying that they were  fair as per the charge.

He was released on a cash bail of Sh. 500,000. The case will be heard on 16th November 2017.
