An elderly woman has been charged with conspiracy to defraud former Nairobi deputy governor Agnes Kagure land worth Sh 200 million.
Ruth Wambui Kimani, 75, is accused of conspiring with others not before court to defraud Kagure her land L.R No. 209/4843/10 (IR No.15372) located along Jogoo Road, measuring approximately 0.3252 Ha.
The elderly widow is also charged with making a false document on unknown date and place within the Republic of Kenya.
According to the charge sheet, the accused person made a false Identity Card Serial No. 230624436 in the name of Francis Kimani Mungai for identity card No. 0979675 purporting it to be genuine document from the National Registration Bureau, a fact she knew to be false.
She denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Rose Ndobi.
Through her lawyer, Kimani asked the court to released her on lenient bail because of her age and considering the fact that she suffers from diabetes and blood pressure.
The court heard that the woman is an administrator of the estate of her late husband, Kimani Mungai, pursuant to the law.
The lawyer added that the suit property is the subject of a court case.
Considering the submissions, the magistrate granted her a cash bail of Sh 100,000 plus two contact persons.
