A man has been charged with obtaining credit by false pretenses after allegedly failing to pay a Sh 5.5 million bill at Gem Suites Hotel in Nairobi.
Kelvin Obondo Odhiambo alias Hon Nyalik Oselu is accused of incurring a debt at the said hotel for accommodation services valued at Sh 3,120,000 and consumed alcoholic drinks, water and food stuffs valued at Sh 2,413,000 all totaling to Sh 5,533,000 by falsely pretending that he was in a position to pay, a fact he knew to be false.
Odhiambo, who had a warrant of arrest in a 2020 case, is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 28th November 2024 and 3rd March 2025 at Gem Suites Hotel within Nairobi, jointly with others not before court.
The accused person denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Rose Ndobi.
He was granted a bond of Sh 1 million with alternative cash bail of Sh 400,000.
