Ministry of Transport worker charged with forging a letter in CS Murkomen’s name

A public servant at the Ministry of Transport has been charged with forging a letter in the name of Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen.

Richard Zenda Kirui Bongei is accused of forging an official letter referenced 2010002101/35 dated 6th May 2024 addressed to the Chairman, Public Service Commission namely “Renewal of Local Agreement Terms” purporting it to have been authored and executed by CS Murkomen.

Bongei is alleged to have committed the offense on unknown date and place within the Republic of Kenya, with intent to deceive.

The accused person is also charged with making the said letter without authority, uttering a false document and conspiracy to commit forgery.

He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Dolphina Alego and was granted a bond of Sh 300,000 with alternative cash bail of Sh 150,000.
