A case filed by Deputy Chief of Staff Josphat Nanok against Nation Media Group will be heard in February 2023.

This is after Nanok, through his lawyer Philip Nyachoti, sought for an adjournment on grounds that he was attending a State function therefore, unable to attend the hearing today.

Justice Joseph Sergon allowed the application and fixed the case for 7th February next year.

Nanok, who is also the former Turkana County governor sued the paper after it published an article claiming that he was supporting Third Generation Revenue Formula.

According to the plaintiff, the article titled “North Rift Governor Backs Third Formula Revenue Formula” was false and motivated by ill will and malice to intentionally impute him directly or indirectly.

Nanok further claimed that the said article brought disrepute to him since the alleged statement insinuated he supported a revenue sharing formula which advocates for reduction of allocated funds to his motherland Turkana county when in fact, he had expressed a contrary view.

It is his argument that the article degraded and/or lowered his personal capacity esteem in the eyes of right thinking members of the society especially the citizens of Turkana county to whom he was accountable to.
