Man charged with Sh 11.3M fraud after failing to sell a Land Cruiser and Subaru Forester to Suresteps director

A man has been charged with obtaining Sh 11.3 million from the Director of Suresteps Systems and Solution Limited and Cloud Pesa Africa Limited after failing to deliver a Land Cruiser and a Subaru.

Erick Wabwire Ilode is accused of obtaining the money from businessman Jackson Mutuku Kiio by falsely pretending that he was in position to sell him to a Toyota Land Cruiser LX 570 and Subaru Forester.

Ilode is also accused of conspiring with others not before court to defraud Kiio the said money.

It is alleged that the accused committed the offense on diverse dates between 2nd February and 5th April 2024 at unknown place within the Republic of Kenya.

He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina and was granted a bond of Sh 1 million.
