Couple charged with stealing from Raila Odinga’s daughter

A personal assistant to Raila Odinga’s daughter and his wife have been charged with conspiring to steal money from her.

John Ayub Oduor and Christine Jane Anyango are accused of conspiring to steal Sh 245,000, property of Rosemary Adhiambo Odinga.

The two are alleged to have committed the offence on or before 15th November 2018.

Oduor was also charged alone with stealing the Sh 245,000 between 15th November 2018 and 5th February 2019 at Karen, Nairobi.

Anyango is accused that on the same date at Target Network Limited in Nairobi, she unlawfully made use of a national identity card in the name of David Munyasia Peter and registered Safaricom sim card and Mpesa.

Rosemary is alleged to have made a report to the police after she realized there were fraudulent withdrawals from her NIC bank account.

According to the police, oduor is the one who helps Rosemary with making money transactions since she is half blind.

They denied the charges and were granted a bond of Sh 200,000 or a cash bail of Sh 100,000
