Ex CS Henry Rotich’s co-accused charged afresh in Sh 63B Arror and Kimwarer dam case

Former Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich’s co-accused has been charged afresh after giving misleading special investigations report on Arror and Kimwarer dam.

Titus Muriithi is accused of giving the misleading special investigation report on Arror and Kimwarer multipurpose irrigation project of Kerio Valley Development Authority to East African Community and Regional Development Cabinet Secretary Adan Mohammed.

Muriithi is alleged to have known that the alleged report contained misleading information in that the conclusion and recommendation.

The former CS and four others are jointly charged with various offences ranging from conspiracy to defraud, abuse of office and failure to comply with various sections of the law while executing contracts that bound the Government of Kenya to pay approximately Sh 63 billion for the construction of the two dams.

Rotich was in May 2021 charged afresh alongside former Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) boss David Kimosop, former Chief Economist Kennedy Nyakundi, Jackson Kinyanjui and Titus Muriithi.

This is after the Director of Public Prosecutions Noording Haji to withdraw charges against some of the accused persons including former Treasury Principal Secretary Kamau Thuge who will now be a State witness.
