Former Tetu Member of Parliament James Githinji Ndung’u has failed to appear in court for the second time to plead to forgery charges.
Ndung’u was ordered to appear in court today to plead charges two weeks ago. However, his lawyers told the court that he could not appear in court because was mourning after loosing his mother-in-law.
The former MP failed to appear in court two weeks ago on grounds that he was self-isolating after being exposed to the coronavirus.
The prosecution opposed the application saying they expected the accused to be in court since last time he informed the court he was in contact with a Covid-19 victim.
Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku ordered the accused to appear in court on 14th December to plead to the charges against him.
In the case, Ndung’u is accused of forging minutes of the meeting of Kihingo village (Waridi Gardens) management one ltd.
He is alleged to have committed the offence on 21st November 2018 within Nairobi County, with intent to deceive.
