The court has acquitted former TV presenter Jacque of the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.

However, Justice Grace Nzioka found her ex fiance Joseph Irungu alias Jowie guilty of murder.

Jowie will be sentenced on 8th March 2024. His bond has been cancelled after being found guilty.

Justice Nzioka  said that the prosecution had prove the case against Jowie beyond reasonable doubt. However, it was contrary for Maribe.

“The first accused person murdered the deceased. The prosecution has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the first accused committed that offence. I find the first accused guilty of the offence of murder,” Justice Nzioka ruled.

In her judgement, the judge said that Maribe has survived on a technicality.

According to her, Maribe faced at least 3 years for giving false information- which she wasn’t charged with.

“It could have been worse if she was charged as an accessory,” the judge ruled.
