Five men have been charged with illegally refilling Liquid Petroleum Gas cylinders of other brands without authority from brand owners.
Yahya Adan Ali, Peter Kithuka, Simon Gichuhi, Abdi Maalin Ali and Mustafa Adan Ali are accused of being found with 50 cylinders on 26th May 2021 at Salama Gas Limited storage and filling facility located at Embakasi area within Nairobi, jointly with others not before court.
The accused persons are also charged with trading and dealing with LPG cylinders of another license for gain without the said license or written consent.
Kithuka additionally charged with transporting liquefied petroleum gas without a valid license from the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
They denied the charges before Resident Magistrate Caroline Nyagi and were released on a cash bail of Sh 50,000 each.
