JSC driver, cleaners charged with stealing TV at Milimani Law Court

Two employees of Jepco Cleaning Company and a Judicial Service Commission driver have been charged with stealing a Television set from Milimani Law Courts.

Andrew Osando Orina, David Elikana Nyabuto and Eric Manyange Ondieki are accused of conspiring to steal a Television set make TCL model valued at Sh 50,000, the property of the Judiciary.

The three are alleged to have committed the offense on unknown date and place within Kenya, jointly with others not before court.

Jepco has been contracted by the judiciary to offer cleaning services at Milimani Law courts building.

Orina and Nyabuto are also charged with stealing the said TV. However, the three also faced and alternative charge of handling stolen goods.

The court had that on 3rd february 2022 at Mukuru kwa Njenga in Nairobi, otherwise than in the course of stealing, dishonestly undertook the disposal of the said TV, knowing or having reasons to believe to be stolen goods.

Orina and Nyabuto pleaded guilty to the charges whereas Ondieki denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo. 

Ondieki was granted a cash bail of Sh 50,000 while the other two will be presented before the City Court on 8th February for reading of facts before sentencing.

The suspects were captured on CCTV stealing the said TV. The two employees led the DCI officers to Mukuru kwa Njenga where they had hidden the TV in a shop.
