An advocate of the high court has found himself on the other side of the dock after being charged with stealing Sh 5.8 million from a client.
Evans Asuga Ongicho is accused of stealing Sh 5,858,080 the property of Misheck Mokua Saboke which he received in the Ongicho Ongico & Co. Advocates Equity Bank account being ab award from court of Appeal Ruling in Civil Appeal against National Water Conservation and pipeline Corporation.
Ongicho is alleged to have committed the offence on diverse dates between 17th October 2019 and 5th February 2020, being an agent of Saboke as an advocate.
He denied the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Zainab Abdul and was granted a bond of Sh 1 million or a cash bail of Sh 200,000.
The matter will be mentioned on 26th November 2020.
