A woman accused of threating to shoot a taxi driver after a disagreement over payment has been charged.

Stella Waithera Kahigi, 37, was charged with possession of a firearm without a firearm certificate.

Kahigi is alleged to have committed the offence on 9th April at about 3 am at Laxman apartments in Loresho.

The court heard that the accused was in possession a Daisy pistol without a firearm certificate.

She denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo was released on a cash bail of 200,000.

Waithera was arrested after the taxi driver Japhet Safari Muthui filed a report at Spring Valley police station.

According to the police report, the accused hailed a car from Free Town in Loresho to a resident in Kangemi at around 3.00 am in the morning.

It is alleged that on arrival at the resident, a disagreement arose over payments for the ride. The accused went inside the house briefly and came out with a pistol threatening to shoot the driver.

After the report was made, the officers proceeded to Kahigi’s resident and arrested her after finding the illegal firearm.
