Man in court for biting police officer’s ear during arrest

A man has been arraigned before a Nairobi court and charged with assaulting a police officer by biting his ear during arrest.

Peter Kirimi Kanogi alias Tosi is accused of biting Corporal Munuku Kitavi on the ear lobe and punching him on the lower lip who was at the time of the said arrest acting in execution of his duties as a public officer.

Kinogi is also charged with resisting lawful arrest by the said officer.

The accused is alleged to have committed the offences on 8th December 2019 at Tsavo -Accra junction in Nairobi.

He appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He was granted a bond of Sh 600,000 or cash bail of Sh 200,000.

The case will be heard on 6th January 2019.
