A lecture at Moi University has been charged with obtaining credit worth over 900,000 shillings.
Beatrice Omunga Ohutso Imbaya who is a senior lecturer in the department of tourism is accused of incurring a debt or liability to Peter Nganga Chege to the amount of Sh 986,689 by falsely pretending that she will refund 12 air tickets for Nairobi Girls Chorale after a concert in Chicago, USA.
The lecturer who is also the Patron of the Nairobi Girls Chorale is alleged to have committed the offence on 21st May 2016 at Best Travel Limited in Nairobi.
She participates in the planning and travel arrangements of the choristers.
The magistrate released on a Sh 200,000 cash bail. The case will mentioned on 26th September for consolidation with another case already before court.
