An employee of Mwalimu National Sacco has been charged with stealing over Sh 34 million from her employer.
The court heard that the millions got into her possession by virtue of her employment.
Elvira Karen Mbati is accused of conspiring with others not before court to steal Sh 34,093,500 from the Mwalimu Sacco.
Mbati is also charged with causing unauthorized access to Mwalimu Sacco, Homabay branch computer systems by plugging a foreign laptop of media access control address into the said Network.
The accused is alleged to have committed the offence on or before 5th March 2022 at unknown place within Kenya.
She denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi and was granted a cash bail of Sh 5 million.
