Nuru Maloba Okanga, a blogger associated with ODM has been charged after posting a video on You tube insulting President William Ruto.
Okanga, 32, has been charged publication of false information contrary to section 23 of the computer misuse and cyber crimes act.
It is alleged that the accused published on Riba News YouTube account a video saying “Nuru Okanga on fire! Ruto you are very stupid. An Idiot. Umetoboka akili wewe!” With intimidating and abusive words to wit, “Ruto you’re very stupid! You’re very stupid! Yaani unakuja kudanganya wakenya mchana kuwa mafuta haikuwa. You’re Idiot“… Information he knew to be false and calculated to discredit the reputation of a state officer and with intent to provoke breach of peace.

He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina.
The court heard that Okanga is a 2023 KCPE candidate at Mumias Muslim primary and is expected to join form one next year.
He added that he is a father and the family’s bread winner
