Kajiado East constituency ODM nominations have been suspended until the case is heard and determined by the High Court.

Two parliamentary constestants Bob Muchemi Njagi and George Kimiti plus members of county assembly contestants Fredrick King’angir, Lydia Ngaira Odongo and Peter Atara moved to the high court after they were dissatisfied with the decision by the Political Parties Dispute Resolution Tribunal (PPDRT) to repeat the nomination voting processes in only four constituencies.

The five filed the case at the tribunal disputing the forwarding of those elected in the shambolic polls for gazettement by the IEBC.

Njagi told the tribunal led by chair Kyalo Mbobu that the returning officer has not announced the results to date.
Lawyer Moses Owuor for the complainants said none Maasai voters were turned away at polling stations within Kitengela.

The tribunal heard that although no results were announced by the returning officer, the name of Kakuta ole Maimai has been published in a section of the press as having won to fly the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket during the August 8 poll.
The five aspirants wondered where Mr Maimai got the results which have been published in the media.
“There was no transparency at all in the whole exercise that was dotted with glaring irregularities,” the tribunal heard.
The claimants told the three member tribunal that they have raised complaints with the national executive board of ODM on poll resolutions and no directives have been given.
They were asking the tribunal to nullify any poll results relayed to IEBC for Kajiado East until a fair nomination exercise has been conducted.
