Police now want Sai Millers employee charged afresh with stealing 32M

Police now want an accountant at Sai Millers who had been charged before Kibera law courts with stealing millions of shillings to be charged afresh at the Milimani law Courts.

Oscar Ongaya who is allegedly charged with stealing sh 32 Million from his employer requested Senior Resident Magistrate Helen Onkwani of Milimani to refer the matter back to Kibera court since the offense and witnesses are the same as those in the Kibera case.

Through his lawyer, the accused told the court that the matter at Kibera has been given the last adjournment after the witnesses failed to appear before court severally.

The court heard that if the police would like to prefer additional charges against the accused person, then they should amend the Kibera Charge sheet to include the alleged new offense since it it similar with the other.

According to the new charge sheet, Ongaya os said to have stolen the money on 7th December 2011 and 30th April 2012 at Sai Millers in Nairobi jointly with others not before court stole the amount which got to his possession by virtue of his employment.

He was also charged with conspiring to defraud the monies jointly with others not before court.

The magistrate deliver her ruling on 19th September on whether the matter will be referred back to Kibera Law Courts or charged afresh.
