Fraud case against Standard Chartered Manager and an employee of National Bank of Kenya who were charged with stealing sh 163 million from Eco Bank will heard on September 21st 2017.
Peter Ndegwa Gathaiya and Roy Gatobu Njira denied the charge and were released on bond.
The two are alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between March 26th 2015 and September 18th 2015 at Eco Bank Head office in Nairobi.
Through his lawyer, Gathaiya requested the court to release him on favorable terms on grounds that he was a single parent of two daughters and the sole breadwinner.
His co accused Njira who was formerly employed by Eco Bank also requested to be released on favorable bond terms on grounds that he is not at flight risk adding that he has a known place of aboard provided by the National Bank of Kenya.
They appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Magistrate Miriam Mugure who released them on a bond of sh 1.5 million with a surety of a similar amount or a cash bail of sh 500,000.
