Three charged with Sh 6M fraud in fake excavator crane sale

Three men have been charged have been charged with conspiring to defraud a businessman over Sh 6 million in a fake excavator sale deal.

Simon Ngigi Mwangi, Peter Kamau Maina, Irfan Rajwan Kamruddin alias Patel are accused of conspiring to defraud Michael Yumba Mangeli Sh 6 million by pretending that they were in a position to sell to him an excavator crane.

The fourth accused person, Abdulrasak Mohamed Adan alias Ronardo did not appear in court to plead to the charges on grounds that he was unwell.

The accused persons are also charged with obtaining Sh 4,050,000 from Mangeli by pretending they were in a position to sell to him the said excavator, a fact they knew to be false.

It is alleged that the the offense was committed on diverse dates between 28th November 2023 and 1st February 2024, jointly with others not before court and with intent to defraud.

They all denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondieki and were released on a cash bail of Sh 100,000 each
