Businessman charged after repossessing a Range Rover sold to friend:declined to refund money

A businessman has been charged with obtaining over Sh 3 million pretending he was in a position to sell a Range Rover.

Emmanuel Mulobi Musebe is accused of obtaining Sh 3,213,000 from James Ochieng Onyango by pretending he was in a position to sell to him a motor vehicle KBU 220U make Range Rover, a fact he knew to be false.

Musebe, aged 40 years, is alleged to have committed the offence between 1st March and 15th August 2018 at Kilimani area in Nairobi, with intent to defraud.

He pleaded not before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and was granted a cash bail of Sh 500,000.

The case will be mentioned on 23rd April and will be heard on 13th May 2019.

Musebe allegedly repossessed the range when the complainant was about to complete the balance of less than Sh 300,000.

The accused six he would refund the over two million which had already been paid but failed to do so.
