Former State House Digital director Dennis Itumbi had been placed on his defence after the court found he had a case to answer over the fake letter alleging a plot to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku ruled that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable against Itumbi and his co-accused Samuel Gateri.
“Having analyzed the evidence before court I find that the prosecution has proved the case beyond reasonable doubt to warrant the accused to be placed on their defence,” the Magistrate ruled.
The two are facing charges of publishing a false document. According to the charge sheet, on or before 20th June 2019, the accused persons published a letter dated 30th May 2019 with intent to cause anxiety to the general public.
