Lawyer charged with forging a will

Simon Kamere, a Nairobi based lawyer has been charged with forging a will of a deceased.

Kamere is accused of forging the will of the late Pius Kimani Mwaura dated 29th May 2014.

He is alleged to have committed the offence on or before 29th May 2014 at Ukulima Co-operative House in Nairobi jointly with others not before court, with intent to defraud.

The accused is also charged with uttering the false will to the daughter of the deceased.

Simon Kamere is said to have uttered the will to Monica Njoki Kimani on 17th March 2020 purporting it to be a genuine will signed by her late father.

He denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe.

He was granted a bond of Sh 1 million with alternative cash bail of Sh 500,000.
