A man has been charged with obtaining money pretending a genuine gold dealer.
Festus Chegero is accused of obtaining Sh 306,820 from Hillary Langat by falsely pretending that he was in a position to sell to him genuine gold.
Chegero is alleged to have committed the offence on 20th February in Nairobi, jointly with others not before court.
He denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku and was granted a cash bail of Sh 100,000.
The prosecution told the court that they intend to consolidate the matter with another of a similar nature already before court.
The court directed the case to be mentioned on 9th October for consolidation and hearing.
