Sowesava Group Chairperson in court over forgery


Sowesava self-help group Chairperson has been arraigned in a Nairobi court over land documents forgery allegations.

Hoops Shihemi Alexander did not however take plea after the court was informed that there is an order from the High Court staying any prosecution/plea taking relating to Nairobi/Block 82/8333 (now part of amalgamation of parcels Nairobi/Block 82/7813 to Nairobi/Block 82/7856 situated at Donholm) against the members of the said group, pending the hearing and determination of the High Court case of Patrobas Owino Vs the DPP and IG.

The group has been in ownership dispute with Gidjoy Investment over the said piece of land valued at Sh 944 million for years.

Shihemi is accused of intending to defraud Gidjoy Investment the said land by making a false allotment letter.

He is also to face charges of forging the title deed and making false lease for the said purporting them to be genuine and issued by Rosemary Anyango, a land registrar.

The chair will appear in court on 17th October for plea taking.
