Nigerian national charged with trafficking cocaine in Kasarani

A Nigerian national has been charged in a Nairobi court with traffic narcotic drugs within Nairobi County.

Alabi Tunde Lateef was charged that he was found trafficking by storing 178.1 grams of cocaine with a street value of Sh 890,500.

Lateef is alleged to have committed the offense on 11 September 2017 at Kasarani Mwiki area within Nairobi County.

The accused was also charged with another count of being unlawfully present in Kenya.

He was charged that on 11th September 2017 at Kasarani Mwiki area within Nairobi County, being a Nigerian National was found unlawfully present in Kenya without a valid passport or permit.

The accused pleaded not guilty before Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku.

The prosecution objected to his release on bond on grounds that the accused is a flight risk because he is foreign national.

His lawyer Kiraithe Wandugi requested for one day to respond to the bond objection. The matter will be mentioned tomorrow.
