Swedish national charged with forging Muslim marriage certificate in Nairobi

A Swedish national has been charged with forging a Muslim marriage certificate ina succession cause in Nairobi.

Faduma Mohamed Mire is accused of forging the marriage certificate purporting it to be a certificate issued by Kadhi’s Court at Nairobi on the 10th September 1993.

Mire is alleged to have committed the offense on diverse dates between 17th November 2016 and 3rd JuneĀ  2019 at unknown place within the Republic of Kenya, jointly with others not before court, with intent to deceive.

The accused is also charged with uttering the forged marriage certificate at the High Court in Nairobi in succession cause number 691 of 2019.

In addition, Mire is accused of uttering the forged certificate at Milimani Chief Magistrate’s court in a 2022 civil suit and again in a suit before the Kadhis court with intent to deceive.

She is alleged to have committed these offenses on 3rd June 2019, 27th January 2022 and 2nd February 2022 respectively.

The prosecution opposed her release on bail on grounds that she is a flight risk.
