Two businessmen have been charged with illegally refilling various brands of Liquid Petroleum Gas without authority from brand owners.
Abdi Maalin Ali and Mustafa Adan Ibrahim are alleged to have committed the offence on 26th May 2021 at Salama Gas Limited L. P. G storage and filling facility located at Embakasi area within Nairobi.
Among the gas cylinders brands they were found in possession with includes K-Gas, Total, lake gas, men gas, Hashi gas, Hadi gas and Super gas.
The two are also accused that on the same date and place, the accused persons were found dealing with both filled and empty LPG cylinders of other brands for gain without prior written consent from the licensed owners in contravention of the said act.
Ali denied the charges before Principal Magistrate Bernard Ndungi. Summons were issued against Ibrahim who did not appear in court to plead to the charges. Ali was released on a cash bail of Sh 100,000.
